About Hawkesbury Removals
Local removalists for the Hawkesbury — the river towns and the ridge. We plan the gate before move day, and shuttle the last leg when a truck can’t reach the door.
Hawkesbury Removals is a local removals service for the Hawkesbury — the old river towns on the floodplain and the acreage up on the ridge. We cover Windsor, South Windsor, Richmond, North Richmond, Pitt Town, McGraths Hill, Wilberforce, Bligh Park, Glossodia and Kurrajong, and we move people out of the valley to the capitals, the coast and the country as well.
We built this service around one fact about moving here: out in the Hawkesbury, the move is decided at the gate. This is a valley of standalone homes on big blocks — across the area about 87 in every 100 homes are houses, not units, and density runs near 25 people per square kilometre, roughly a twentieth of greater Sydney’s. That means long driveways, gravel and dirt, farm gates, gradients and river-flat ground that softens after rain. The full-size pantech that suits an inner-city terrace often can’t reach an acreage door, so we read the access at both ends before the day and bring a smaller shuttle vehicle for the last leg whenever a property needs it. Up at Kurrajong we usually plan the shuttle from the start.
The towns themselves have their own character. Windsor, Richmond, Pitt Town and Wilberforce are four of Governor Macquarie’s five towns, laid out on high ground in 1810 after the floods of the year before — so a move in central Windsor is about narrow heritage streets and original stairs, not gravel. Richmond’s single-lane river bridge sets the timing of a cross-river move. Each town moves a little differently, and knowing that is the job.
What we do
We handle house, office and furniture removals, packing and unpacking, country and interstate moves, and storage. Whether it’s a single piano out of a heritage cottage or a full homestead down a steep gravel drive, we bring the crew, the gear and — where the gate calls for it — the shuttle.
How we work
- We plan the gate first. The driveway, the surface, the gradient, the turning circle and the river crossing all get worked out before move day. Try our access planner for an honest read in a minute.
- Fully insured. Your belongings are covered while we’re carrying them, and we wrap and protect furniture and your home as standard.
- Honest quotes. Clear, indicative pricing based on your actual move and access, with no surprises on the day. A shuttle leg, where it’s needed, is a routine costed step — never a problem found on the day.
- Careful with old homes. Heritage stairs, narrow halls and period doorways are a normal day; we protect floors, frames and banisters as a matter of course.
